When we were searching for a television, we wanted something that was unique to say the least. You see, we were sick of dealing with all of these complicated televisions that had tons of features that were hard to use. Yes, we wanted something that had a lot of features to it, but we wanted it to be easy to use. Are you with us on this? With those thoughts in mind, we came across the Sony Bravia KDL-32W5500 and we must say that it is a very exceptional television.

The Sony KDL-32W5500 is the television we have been searching for. It is unique and not like any of the other televisions we have had in the past. We will admit that we were surprised at how great it was. Yes, from the videos we watched online and the performance aspects, we expected it to be great, but not this great. We come across many questions of what this television offers and that is why we have taken the time to write this review for you. Now, we are sure you are interested in learning about the features, so let us continue.

All of the Bravia televisions come HD ready, so there should be no problem on that end. On it, you are going to find up to four HDMI connections. This television will also be coming with a digital tuner that has been integrated. You will also find Bravia Sync technology, which means it will only take a push of a button to turn the whole Sony home entertainment system on. The XrossMediaBar will help you navigate your television easily. Do you know what all of this advanced technology means? It means you have technology that will do more for you.

This television contains Bravia Engine 3 digital processing, which will be giving you richness, depth and clarity that will be sure to take your breath away. Did we mention the Motionflow 100Hz? This technology will keep that fast-moving action crystal clear. It is a blur-reducing technology.

We know you will enjoy the Bravia Sync technology that is on the KDL-32W5500. With this technology, all you have to do is click one button and your entire entertainment system is going to come to life. We know you will also enjoy the XrossMediaBar as it will help you navigate the television with no problem.

As you are viewing your favorite television shows, you will be able to turn to AppliCast so that you can see on-screen RSS feeds of the news as well as other information. It will also be analyzing each scene in order to control the brightness level. That’s right, it will generate advanced brightness and color. It also optimizes the noise level.

Honestly, there is so much that we could tell you about the Sony Bravia KDL-32W5500, but it would take us all day as there are so many features to it. With this television, you have high quality pictures, top of the line sound and technology that makes it easy to use. Honestly, what more could you ask for? Oh yeah, a low price. We forgot to tell you that the price tag on this television is exceptionally lower than the price tags on those other televisions.

The Sony Corp. Is a global leader in electronics. The company operates in the field for lot many years, and has been producing appliances that were beautiful. Their televisions, stereos, laptops, HandyCam, digital camera, etc all were very well received and appreciated by consumers. Here we see a review of Sony KDL32W5500. His is an LCD HD television from Sony.

HD TVs feature the latest television high definition technology. They have the image quality which is fantastic and well-known for producing high-resolution images. This BRAVIA of Sony is the leading brand of LCD HDTV. They are giving high quality of color to provide high image quality which is excellent. It is made with technological advances to help sync with devices that will support a TV set with DLNA technology. 32E550 is the sibling Sony KDL32W5500, which is two times higher than the Sony KDL32W5500.

This model features a black and bezel frame, though it’s not as beautiful as the 32E5500, but this model is a done with smooth finish. Linking this TV or various appliances is really easy. There are four HDMI ports. In addition, the presence of the Ethernet and USB port for connecting DLNA supported PCs. It also provides Internet access -Applicast.

This is the most advanced TV with BRAVIA Engine 3, and provides high quality video processing and color processing. It is also has the technology revolution MotionFlow 100Hz, which is used to double the rate of refresh of PAL. The On screen menus display well and offer many other features which are easy for using.

Color quality is very close to the ideal of all other products of Sony. KDL32W5500 has the most beautiful color resolution technology during the night view shots in films. This is when watching dark movies. The quality is simply amazing. LCD TVs these days has reached excellent levels in the LCD display quality, but Sony, of course, is above all.

Not only is the quality but also the video quality is very good. BRAVIA is perfect for watching high color balanced images and films. The recent film in rich colors, such as Wall-E seems very realistic to on that TV, because television had BE3 engine that King among others. Blur technology also has advantages. MotionFlow combines with the technology that can reduce the visible blur.

Be 3 was exceptional in handling high-definition equipment. HD looks real. BRAVIA Engine really needs to celebrate. The shortcoming is that the angle of view the screen a bit smaller. This means that many people cannot watch TV at the same instance. Audio is another issue. It isn’t as good as other rivals’ products.

Just keeping the negative effects aside this TV is good bargain for money. It is really a nice piece to own for the HD experience BRAVIA offers. Though many competitors exist Sony truly shows the door to all of them with this KDL32W5500. I give it 8. 5/10.

I\’ve been asked to evaluate the Toshiba 32RV635DB. This is the UK version of Toshiba\’s extensively popular and best selling television model 32RV635. Things sure have come a long way in a pretty short period of time with technology.

2008 saw an almost complete swap from the older CRT technology to the newer, sharper LCD technology. All of the new releases are HD capable LCD or plasma screen TVs. One of these LCD TVs is the Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB.

All of the latest releases from television manufacturers are HD capable and are either LCD or plasma screens. The Toshiba 32RV635DB was released in 2009. This is a 3 pin version for the UK of the Toshiba 32RV635. These sets are identical with the exception of the UK plug.

The 32RV635DB sports an impressive 32 inch wide screen display that produces the best images for a distance of eight to ten feet from the set. Unlike many other models, this television has a cabinet design that helps it become one with your room and home, not just another piece of electronics that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Tests show that the 32RV635DB is better than average for standard definition or high definition television viewing, but may not be suitable for some higher end gaming applications.

All Toshiba RV TVs have an environmentally friendly function. There is a master off switch that allows you to drop the idle watts per hour energy usage from 3 watts per hour to just under 1 watt per hour.

This Toshiba model gives you new GUI on all of the menu screens. This means that the Graphic User Interface on the 32RV635DB is bright and vivid, easy for you to read the menus and that\’s a nice change. Many other models will have you squinting and standing right in front of the television just to be able to read the menus and change any settings that you desire.

One adjustment that may need to be made when powering up the 32RV635DB is choosing the aspect ratio one wishes to view programmes at. This is easily accomplished using the remote control.

The TV did demonstrate some overdrive errors and colour smearing during more technical testing. The end result was that the 32RV635DB is excellent for passive viewing of television programming in standard or high definition modes, but may not be able to keep up with 60p computer games.

The Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB has a better than average viewing angle, but at extreme side angles there is some unavoidable shifting of colours and gamma that lead to distortion. As far as sharpness goes, this model has a 1 to 1 pixel mapping which means that the image produced is as sharp as it is possible to obtain.

Keep in mind, the 32RV635DB is not one of the higher end HD models available. However, it has shown serious promise for those who are looking for a low priced high definition television to use for viewing purposes for your family. This TV did better than anything else in this price range and the aspect ratio is key.

If you\’re looking for a good TV for viewing your nightly television shows or even as a second television for the kids, you can\’t find a better TV for the price tag than the Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB.

Best Price for the Toshiba 32RV635DB in the UK at 32RV635DB and Toshiba 32RV635DB Cheapest

The Toshiba 37RV635DB LCD TV offers the latest know-how.

The Toshiba 37RV635DB LCD television has unique features which really increase your viewing satisfaction. Not only does it look stylish in any room, it produces outstanding picture quality.

Word has got around about the superb resolution of the Toshiba 37RV635DB, and it is becoming very trendy. Consumer reviews are most favourable; in fact, it is hard to find a disapproving review. Customer comments include: “very easy to set up”; “crystal clear screen”; “very good value for money”; “would recommend it at this price”; “crisper and brighter than I have had before”; “has an awesome guide”.

The combination of excellent picture and audio, with the stylish black gloss finish make this an attractive choice for those looking for an LCD TV . The console on the Toshiba Regza 37RV635DB is very thin and light in weight and has a 37 inch High Definition panel. You have a choice of how to position your new television , the stand allows the TV to swivel to different angles or you can mount it on the wall using the specially-designed wall bracket for security.

Resolution is an important feature of LCD screens and the 37RV635DB gives a resolution of-66 x 768. The progressive scanning feature provides a clearer image at standard HP of 720p. Vivid colours are a feature of this LCD, and smooth motion in action shots make for great viewing. There are multiple settings which allow you to optimize your picture, including dynamic, standard and movie.

Toshiba’s AutoView function on the Toshiba Regza 37RV635DB is actually a sensor that analyzes both the picture and the room lighting on a constant basis. It then adapts the backlight and colour of the picture to make it easier to view the screen. In a dark room, the picture is lightened and in a room with a lot of light, the backlighting and colour density is increased. There is also a colour enhancing feature to make the contrast better.

Multiple connectivity selections are another unique feature of this Toshiba TV and sound is enhanced by the stereo arrangement of the two, twenty-watt speakers. A Dolby decoder adds to the enhancement of the sound quality. The processing chip, the real brains of the operation of the 37RV635DB is Toshiba’s Meta Brain. It has control of the exclusive functions of the TV like Resolution+, the picture enhancer which takes it to virtually an HD level by making improvements to edge details and texture of the picture.

A menu that is easy to understand and use is a great feature to have in a television , and this is what you get with the Toshiba Regza 37RV635DB. You are not distracted by the advanced options because they are hidden until you need to use them. The main menu shrinks to a small box at the bottom of the screen when you are making adjustments, so you can see how the adjustments are impacting your picture. What a time-saver this feature is.

Environmental interests are in everyone’s mind these days, and Toshiba has shown it is also environmentally aware by developing the Eco-Panel. The 37RV635DB LCD screen uses up to 45% less electricity than comparable LCD’s in today’s market, so you save money while helping the planet.

The Toshiba Regza 37RV635DB is digital ready, which is an advantage as most countries count down to the departure of analogue transmitters. Take advantage of the benefits of digital TV now with this model.

Buying a TV takes some education, especially with so many different types, models, and brand names as we have out now. Various sizes, shapes, and features can cause you to cringe and wish you’d never left the house. But in reality, it’s just a matter of understanding the basics that you need, the rest is purely personal choice.

It helps if you have an idea about if you need S-video inputs or not. Also if you may want or need RCA jacks in front. What about a digital comb filter? And will any of these things influence the quality of my viewing a movie or sports event? Questions like this will indeed pop up when you start shopping for your TV. So it’s best to be prepared with some knowledge about such things.

Do you buy into the notion that ‘bigger is better’ when owning a TV? It depends on your situation and of course, the TV. I’ve seen smaller TVs that make you squint to see them, while huge TVs made everything a blur unless you sat a mile away. You need to keep in mind where you’ll place your TV and what size TV that space calls for.

Whenever you shop for TVs and are looking at screens, you should know that size is taken from the diagonal measurement of the screen, not top to bottom. When dealing with a flat-bottom TV you don’t need as much room as with, say, a rear-projection CRT. The flat panel can be hung on the wall and furniture layout doesn’t factor in as much.

With a screen that’s over 40 inches, it’s worth looking into a rear-projection CRT. This takes the concept of a projector and adds it to a screen for a one-two punch of a picture. The image gets projected onto the screen, which is then viewed from in front by you.

The CRT type TV utilizes three cathode ray tubes for combining it’s main hues of red, green, and blue. These types of TVs have been the mainstay of home theaters for many years. They present you with a better investment per dollar, and they always have a great picture with good black level quality.

If there are any drawbacks to the rear-projector CRTs, it’s that they’re heavy and deep in the back. They also don’t perform well under bright lighting. They’re hard in the maintenance department and their viewing angle can be quite narrow. But the quality as far as color and picture go is hard to compete with.

People everywhere love the concept of the flat panel TV. This is due to their convenience as well as the fact that they take up little space while giving you a large screen. It’s a great stride in the area of technology. Whether you get one that’s Plasma or LCD you’re sure to be content with a flat panel TV.

Buying a TV like the TX-L37S10 requires some knowledge, but it’s not knowledge that’s hard to come by.

Buying a TV can be done online; you won’t even need to go out of your home. Like many other products stores will have their inventory on the web, all you will need to do is decide on which one you want and order it. Having it shipped directly to your home is a great decision, as long as you have faith in the shipper.

Buying anything is a simple project in many cases. Buying a TV will not be as simple, because you still need to decide on what size, what kind, and what brand you’re looking for. But as you look around online you will be able to read reviews and how people felt about the item that will possibly cost you a lot of money.

You may need to spend more money than you had planned on when you think about the size of television you want to buy. You can find some deals from third class manufacturers or third party places where the brands are newer and not as well known. But that’s why you read the reviews of people who’ve bought those little known brands before.

So you should first set a budget, make it something that is reasonable, even if you have to look around at prices first and then decide. Because if you don’t want to spend much on a TV , you may just want to wait until you can save up more and allow yourself more choices of television brands and sizes.

Many people seek to buy a big screen TV , they may not even care if the television is plasma or LCD, but they just want a 50″ screen or above. This is why you need to compare prices and see if you have enough money, or you will need to save for more time. The best time to buy a TV is when you don’t even need one.

Because you won’t be rushed into a decision, because you don’t have something to keep you entertained at night. If you’re shopping because your television has broken down and is no longer any good, you may have to settle for a choice that is less than you were hoping for.

In many cases this will lead to a purchase that will leave you unhappy, or having spent far more money than you had hoped too. But you can always cut out on a few other things that are considered luxuries to build up your savings account again. After all for many people buying a TV will be their only form of a large purchase for the year.

Finally, it’s very easy to compare many TVs online when you are looking to find the right one for you. However, remember to read the reviews and not just one review either. Some people may have gotten a bad egg, but that doesn’t mean that a television will always be bad. Reading more than one review will allow you to see if the higher percentage of people liked or loved the TV , or hated it for different reasons. After all a big purchase like a television such as the Sony Bravia KDL37W5500 should be one that is made after you’ve studied up and learned a bit.

Settle down and I will tell you a tale of TV buying. This tale has to do with the successful buyer and the beautiful set that they bought. It is a fact that in times past the sets were extremely small and the prices for them were large. However, times have changed for the better. The selection of TVs that you can get is absolutely ridiculous and the manner in which you can buy them has changed too. The fact that you need a new TV set is not new, but the fact that the wife (or hubby) is letting you get one is very exciting.

When you are going to buy a TV you have to understand exactly what kind you want and where it is going to be used. There are TVs now days that are specifically made to withstand more steamy areas like the bathroom. You can get them for the kitchen, kid’s rooms, and all of the vehicles that you own. There is no end to the variety. Then you have to make sure that the type of TV you want is the right brand because there may be someone in the house who wants to complain because you got a lesser brand than so and so.

The next thing to decide after where in the house you want it to go is style. You can buy flat screens that will go anywhere in the house now and the advantage to them is that they are lighter and have a smaller profile than they ever have before.

When you have decided where the thing is going to be placed in the house and you are ready to make a decision, then you need to decide between the different versions of the screen. For the big screen type TVs there are three basic types. There are the LCD, plasma, and projection versions that can be said to be said to be truly “big screen.” The LCD TVs are the king of the thin screen set. They can be quite large, but because the screen is so thin they can also be mounted on a wall no matter how big. They are more expensive, but if you have the funds they are the way to go. Plasma TVs are also thin screen types and they are generally cheaper than LCD types, but they have some issues you will need to understand. The third type of big screen is the projection TV. When you are TV buying you may be severely tempted by the size but remember the space requirement for these monsters.

When you get the TV, make sure that it is equipped to handle HDTV. Newer TVs like the Toshiba 37RV635DB are supposed to be able to comport to this regulation, so there should be no issue.

When you have decided on the type of TV and you next need to know how you are going to purchase it. If you have been doing the shopping on line, as you should at first, then you can either have the set brought to your home or dropped off at a store to pick up. Use the store option. It will save you the cost of shipping and insurance.

Don’t be dragged in to the salesman’s need to sell you a warranty either. They are basically useless and they cost a lot of money.

Finally, TV buying is actually a fun experience if you make a little preparation. Make sire and do the homework.

In the beginning of the television industry, television programming was free. The only expense to watching television was the purchase price. Everyone had rabbit ears or an outside antenna. In the 1960s, cable television came along. While cable seemed inexpensive at first, the prices have risen. Basic cable cost almost 400 dollars annually in many places and full connections can cost over 100 dollars monthly. Quick calculations will tell you that you could easily spend 1200 dollars or more yearly on cable television. In all of this, there is some good news. Television programming can still be free and free television is better than ever.

In the days of analog television, cable television gained a following because images from antennas were often unclear. Many people do not realize that this is no longer true with digital television. In digital television, if the signal is strong enough to be received in your home, the picture will be perfect every time. If the picture cannot be shown perfectly in your home, there will be no picture. Many people find that a pair of inexpensive rabbit ears are all the antenna that is needed for their home television. If you have an older analog television, you can still qualify for a free coupon from the United States Government that will allow you 40 dollars credit toward the purchase of the converter, and the government will send you up to two of these coupons.

By attaching your set to an antenna you will still have access to most of your favorite shows whether the broadcast in the day or at night. The cost to you is absolutely nothing. In addition you will be able to see some sports and local and national news.

If you are afraid that you will miss your favorite movie channels, try joining Netflix or Blockbuster online. Membership starts at 5 dollars per month and there is a two to three day turnaround for most movies. You will be able to see more movies than are offered on movie channels and can set your own viewing schedule. In addition, if you are an older movie fan, many of these can be downloaded to your computer for immediate viewing.

Even if you have missed favorite shows, they can be downloaded on the internet and view at another time. Your movie rental club may allow you to download older movies for immediate viewing and this not count against the number of movies you have checked out.

Many families find that they are watching less television than ever. If you are among the many families that watch two to four hours of television per month, then why spend even thirty dollars per month on television cable. That works out to 7. 50 dollars per hour. The price seems very expensive for something that you may not use that often.

Think of what you can do with all the money saved by cutting the cable. In a few months time you will have saved enough to buy the big screen you have been wanting.

What happens if there is one evening when nothing is on the local channels and you just sent the last DVD back to the rental site? You get the privilege of turning off the set and getting to know your family once again. Play a game, got to the park or simply sit and talk. Your children will love hearing stories of when you grew up.

by Peter Roberts

Almost all products sold by online retailers can attract thousands of reviews. Why are they worth reading-or writing? Are online product reviews relevant and credible?

Another way you could ask this question is do you trust offline word of mouth from friends and acquaintances. And are online reviews as credible as offline word of mouth? If a book on Amazon.com, the leading online retailer, already has hundreds of reviews, is it worth bothering to add another? Evidently some people think it is. Peter Hoflich, a financial journalist based in Singapore, recently wrote the 3,250th review of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, for example. “I wonder if anyone will benefit from my review, especially since there are so many,” he muses.

Oddly enough, somebody might. That is because the raw number of reviews or comments, and the proportion of positive and negative ones, send useful signals to other people, even if they do not trawl through all of them. Accordingly, websites make it as easy as possible for people to add their comments. Amazon was a pioneer in this regard: it has allowed customers to post reviews of books and other products for many years. Initially, publishers and authors were worried that allowing negative reviews would hurt sales. Online retailers have generally been reluctant to allow users to leave comments,.

But a handful of bad reviews, it seems, are worth having. “No one trusts all positive reviews,” he says. So a small proportion of negative comments-”just enough to acknowledge that the product couldn’t be perfect”-can actually make an item more attractive to prospective buyers. The sheer volume of reviews makes far more difference, It isn’t enough to get people comfortable with making that purchase decision. But after about 20 reviews of a product are accelerated. Visitors are more reluctant to buy until a product attracts a reasonable number of reviews and picks up momentum. In a test with Kingston, a maker of computer memory, Bazaarvoice collected reviews of Kingston products from the firm’s website and syndicated them to the website of Office Depot, a retailer. As a result there were more than ten reviews per product, compared with one or two for competitors’ offerings. The result was a “drastically” higher conversion rate, which extended even to other Kingston products that lacked the additional reviews. Yet even when a product has attracted hundreds or even thousands of reviews, they keep coming in. Five reviews of the first book in the popular “Twilight” series, which was published in October 2005, were posted on Amazon.com on a typical day recently. Most retailers and comparison sites try to strike a balance between recent reviews and helpful ones. Allowing visitors to rate reviews allows the most informative to rise to the top. And displaying recent reviews indicates that people are still interested in the product. Some reviewers really do want to shape others’ opinions. Example, “Someone out there is reading Harry Potter for the first time,” she says. This prompts other readers who feel strongly about it “to debunk the hype, or to validate it.” On Amazon, indeed, the most prolific reviewers are promoted almost as celebrities in their own right. This prompts reviewers to focus on quantity, not quality, however, so Amazon recently changed its ranking system. Now the “helpfulness” of reviews is taken into account, causing Harriet Klausner, the most prolific reviewer with over 18,000 reviews to her credit, to drop below 500th place in the rankings. Readers rated her reviews as helpful 71% of the time, compared with 95% for the new number-one reviewer, “Mark”, who has written fewer than 500 reviews. What is true for reviews does not appear to apply to comments left on news stories or blogs, however. “You can probably have a decent discussion until you get to about 350 comments,” says Markos Moulitsas, the founder of Daily Kos, a popular left-leaning political site. But after that, he says, “most outside people will stay away from the thread, and further growth will come from people already inside that thread carrying forth a discussion, debate, or argument.” Such discussion threads are more of a conversation, and the page they inhabit usually has a limited lifespan during which people continue to post-unlike the Amazon pages for the “Harry Potter” books, which continue to attract reviews even today, years after the books’ publication. Ultimately, the question for authenticity is relevant for online reviews. There is the possibility of shills, fraud, and ‘astroturfing’. The truth is, with over 40 clients and hundreds of thousands reviews, we don’t see much fraud (and we’re getting pretty good at catching them). Of course, nothing is fool proof. With the growth of consumer-generated content, this will continue to be a focus for us to stay ahead. It’s also why our solution includes several fields to add context to the review. In usability studies we find that provides shoppers with review relevance as well as *reviewer* relevance. The Edelman group found that ‘trust in someone like me’ has tripled over the last two years. The key phrase here is ‘someone like me’. Shoppers identify with the reviewer based on the content of the review, user attributes, and product attribute ratings. I would also assert the community of customers and shoppers are the best judges of authenticity and relevance. With helpfulness votes (which is sortable) and abuse reporting, shoppers themselves can ‘smell’ fraud. We find many of our clients’ customers are compelled to jump in with their own review when a review that is ‘off’ is posted. So between our content analysts (we read every review and review several factors for fraud) and customers, we can maintain a high standard of authenticity.

Some reviewers really want to give way to other views. Example, “Someone out there is reading Harry Potter for the first time,” he says. This other readers who feel strongly about it “to remove the advertisement, or to validate it.” In the Amazon, in fact, the most prolific reviewers are promoted almost like celebrities in their own right. This prompted respondents focus on quantity, not quality, but it recently changed its Amazon ranking system. Now, the utility of the revisions are taken into account, causing Harriet Klausner, the most prolific author with more than 18,000 reviews to his credit, to drop below 500th place in the rankings. Readers comments rated its usefulness as 71% of the time, compared with 95% for the new number one reviewer, “Mark”, who has written more than 500 comments.
Ultimately, the question for authenticity is relevant for online reviews. There is the possibility of shills, fraud, and ‘astroturfing’.
