Get ready for your next match-three app purchase. Are we serious? Aren’t there enough (too many) match-three games in the app store? While it is arguable that iTunes needs another match-three style game looking to ride the Bejeweled bandwagon, Groovin’ Blocks is not your common match-up app. As the name implies, Groovin’ Blocks has been placed by Zoo Games as more of a jam session experience than a traditional puzzler. And rather than riding the wave of me-toos in the App Store, Groovin’ Blocks rides off it’s own previous success in the Wiiware download store.

Spending some time with Groovin’ Blocks is like hittin’ up your favorite clubbin’ scene. OK, enough with the apostrophes. Seriously, if you’re a fan of techno beats and pulsating lights you’ll probably like this app. Yet, if rhythm is its soul, puzzling is its heart. Laid out in a Tetris-like format, players are made to arrange stacks of colored blocks within an empty room. Matching touching colors of three or more eliminates those blocks, freeing up space for those jiving on down from above. Building off this idea, Groovin’ Blocks introduces multipliers and powerups into the mix. Multipliers are obtained by hitting the down arrow simultaneous to a beat vibe scrolling in from both sides of the screen. When a multiplier is activated, it remains active as long as the player continues to nail beats when dropping block into place. Powerups are awarded as blocks with special power symbols on them are place with a beat. Some powerups increase the value of nearby blocks while others explode blocks around the powerup holder.

The game sports 50 levels of jiving action all arranged according to song. Locked levels can be accessed through achievements involving matches, power-ups, and multipliers. Three different difficulty levels – Casual, Experienced, and Hard – are available. Songs have a noticeable Nintendo feel to them, yet each is different enough from the others to make things interesting. The user interface is well arranged; however the instructions boxes could use a little stylish attention in our opinion. Zoo Games has not built in an online scoring system yet, but we think they will be adding these features in the near future.

Certainly, Groovin’ Blocks is no off-the-shelf match three puzzle title. It truly has Tetris on the brain, but pulls off enough originality to set itself apart from the crowd. At its current selling price of $1.99, we highly recommend Groovin’ Blocks for anyone who wants to bust a move while solving a few puzzles along the way.

Do you love dice based games and can’t resist any of them? Then you must take a look at some of the great games that are there on iTunes for your iPhone and most of them are free! Awesome graphics and fantastic concepts come together to create an amazing set of games that will keep you occupied no matter where you are. Here’s a look at some of these cool new apps for your iPhone.

Virtual Dice: This is as good as the real thing. If you’re fond of rolling dice just for the heck of it or if you like doing it for fun, but can’t because, well you can’t be seen rolling dice all the time, why not download this cool app for your iPhone where with the flick of your wrist you can roll the dice around on the screen. You can choose the number of dice you want to play with and the sharp graphics adds to your viewing and playing pleasure.

MotionX Dice: Ancient civilizations used dice to figure out a lot of things in their life. They rolled the dice and looked at the numbers that showed up and tried to divine their future or understand the answers to the questions they sought. Now, in today’s advanced world, you too can make this happen again with this super cool app from iTunes, called MotionX Dice. Download this app on your phone and never be bored again when you are with friends. Ask questions, shake your iPhone to roll the dice and check out all the fun answers! Do make sure you ask specific questions and not any vague ones. There’s a choice of 56 dice with different options and as many as 31 ‘tables’ for different kinds of tasks, be it magic or divination.

Three’s: This has been a popular game over the years where as many as 20 players can play to see who will get the lowest scores when you add the values of 5 rolled dice. 3 is counted as zero. This same mind absorbing game is now available on the iPhone through iTunes where you can roll dice on your screen and see what happens. It’s a simple game, but extremely popular because you can play it alone or with 20 different people too!

Expedition Africa – The Game: This surprising adventurous exploration takes the same route that Henry Stanley took, to find Dr. David Livingstone. History lovers will find this especially fascinating. This game is played by rolling dice. You have to cope with a variety of hurdles that are thrown across on this journey, besides ensuring that the rewards and risks are easily balanced out. When you run of porters and food, the game comes to an end.

If word games are your forte then you will be excited to know that you can now download them on your iPhone. iPhone users in iTunes can access a set of around 40 word games. They offer you interesting challenges and are being updated everyday.

Word Scramble

You would observe words inside a grid of combined letters and your actual job is to concentrate on the words on your screen. Open up with your pals over Wi-Fi and commence the games with others, over EDGE or 3C and come out as a regular player. You can also play these games in the solo mode and repeat the same wit 4×4 or 5×5 boards. You would enjoy this game if you appreciate games like Text Twist or Scrabble. Have fun and pleasure by playing this free game on your iPhone.

Frozen Lexicon

This is a fantastic game for those who want to stretch the limits of their vocabulary. Very similar in concept to Text Twist, there’s a scrambled set of letters from which you have to make as many words as possible within the specified time limit. Words with more letters obviously gain you more points. If you’re up to it, you can increase the excitement by moving on to 7 letter challenge words which are obviously much more difficult. Bonuses add to the fun while hints make life a little easier.

Crossword Blitz

If you’re crazy about crosswords then you will love this app because it’s like carrying your own crossword pocketbook with you, wherever you go. A relatively simple game, the Crossword Blitz app doesn’t require an internet connection so you can play without any fears that your game will stop just because there’s no connectivity. The games are unlimited and each one is challenging so you can exercise your mental cells. All the games are automatically generated.

Spel it Rite

This is a cool app where you have to recognize words that have been spelt wrong and choose the one which has the correct spelling only. You have to identify the typos as quickly as possible and for every error a penalty of five seconds is added to the total time. Once you finish a round, you have the option of looking at how well or how badly you have performed. In the free version, there are more than 600 really difficult words while the paid version has more than 2000 words. It’s a good way to check how good your spelling is. You’ll be surprised for sure!

Word Scramble

In this game there a grid with jumbled letters is given to you and you have to identify words on your screen.
Frozen Lexicon

Here’s a game for those who want to expand their vocabulary. From an assorted set of alphabets you have to form as many words as you can within a stipulated period of time. Then check out the numerous word games that can be found for iPhone users on iTunes and you will be surprised to see that while there aren’t that many in number (just forty or so), the ones that are there are quite good and well, new apps and games are always being added to iTunes every single day. Here’s a brief look at some of these games.

Word Scramble

There are words hidden inside a grid of scrambled letters and all you have to do is look for the words on your screen. Compete with friends over WiFi and play live games with others, over EDGE or 3G and become a seasoned player. You can also play on your own in the Solo mode and play games with 4×4 or 5×5 boards. This game is perfect for you if you like games such as Text Twist and Scrabble. Enjoy hours of unlimited pleasure with this free game for your iPhone.

Frozen Lexicon

This is an ever-enjoyable game for those who want to increase their vocabulary. Exact in concept to Text Twist, there is a mixed group of letters out of which you have to create the maximum similar words within the given time. Words with many letters will gain you multiple points. If you are inclined to it, you can adventure into the seven letter challenge words. Bonuses keep you gripped while clues make life a little easier.

Crossword Blitz

If you are passionate about crosswords, then you will love app for it’s like taking your own crossword pocket book wherever you move on. A proportional simple game, the Crossword Blitz app doesn’t warrant an internet connection because of which you can play without having any tension that your game will come to an abrupt end. The games are unrestricted and each one is demanding enough to make your mental exercise active. All the games are spontaneously generated.

Spel it Rite

This is an exciting app where we have to make out words have been spelt incorrect and choose the one which has the correct spelling. You have to make out the typos as early as possible and for every mistake, a penalty of 5 seconds is imposed to the total time. Once you conclude a round you have the choice of looking at how correctly or incorrectly you have performed. In the free version, there will be in excess of 600 difficult words whereas in the paid version there will be more than 2000 words. It is a good way to examine how good your spelling is. You will be taken aback, for sure.

The most common iPhone crash is one where the application you are working in suddenly ceases operation, the screen momentarily turns black, then the iPhone home screen appears. In a slightly more serious manifestation, the crash will result in a complete freeze where the iPhone is unresponsive. Your initial reaction could be… simply yank the battery to cut the power and reset the phone, but there is no batter! But let me remind you that before you do anything to your iPhone, finding out what causes the problem is necessary.

I’ve encountered this problem before… I thought that Apple must have some sort of a contingency in place for lock-ups, and I was right. In this article I will state some tips and tricks on how to troubleshoot your iPhone. YOU will learn how to fix your frozen iPhone or other problems that may arise. Yes YOU! Really amazing that you don’t have to be a tech-savvy person to do this. Here are the options in a nutshell.

First option is to recharge your iPhone. Charge your iPhone by using your iPhone AC adapter or with a high-powered USB port. Make sure that the USB port is high-powered, otherwise your iPhone will not charge. Your keyboard USB port is an example of a low powered port.. If you see the red part of the battery image flash three times and then the screen goes black, this means that that the iPhone is not charging.

Restarting your iPhone is also a safe way to troubleshoot your iPhone. The iPhone is essentially a small computer and just like a regular computer, sometimes programs freeze and keep you from using the phone for anything else. In this situation, its easy to quit that program. Simply hold down the Home button at the bottom center of the phone for at least six seconds. This should quit the program and return you to the Home screen. Once thats done… restart the phone. To restart your iPhone, hold down the sleep/wake button at the top right-hand corner of the iPhone for 10 seconds. This will bring up a screen asking you to run the slider across the screen to turn the phone off. When you slide the slider to the right, a progress wheel will appear and in a second or two, the iPhone will be off. To turn it back on again, just hold down the sleep/wake button until the Apple icon appears on the screen and then wait for the phone to start up.

To reset your iPhone is also a good way to fix a frozen iPhone. This solution fixed my iPhone. Resetting an iPhone is nothing more than a hard reset or a forced reboot. You’re simply cutting the power and making it reboot. To do this, hold the sleep/wake button and Home buttons simultaneously for a few second. The display will quickly wipe itself and you should see the black background and white Apple logo, signifying a reset well done.

Another factor that causes your iPhone to freeze is the content. This will require more than a restart, you need to remove the content that is not properly synced. It could be your contacts, calendars, songs, photos, videos, or podcasts. To do this, go to iTunes, select Preferences from the File menu, then iPhone and delete your backed up iPhone settings ” this includes text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, sound settings, widget settings. Again, one or more of these content might be problematic.

You may also try to reset the settings of your iPhone. Go to the Settings application, tap General then select the Erase All Content and Settings. This will delete all media and data on the iPhone, as well as recent calls, etc., and all other settings.

Restoring your iPhone is your last option to fix a frozen iPhone. To do this, use the latest version of iTunes, then connect your iPhone. When it appears in the Source list, click on Restore in the Summary tab. This will also wipe the iPhone and all your information on it.

As I’ve mentioned, resetting my iPhone fixed my issue and Im even jamming with my iPhone now as I write this. There are lots of ways to fix a frozen iPhone and troubleshooting your iPhone is so easy. Also, remember that you can send a crash report to Apple when your iPhone is connected providing the crash report will enable the iPhone software team to have valuable data that might be rolled into a future update.

One of the most common problems of the Apple iPhone is that it will suddenly be completely unresponsive. The display wont accept any of your taps and even the external buttons are ignored. Yes, your iPhone is frozen! This means that your iPhone is not operating as expected or totally not working. Your initial reaction could be… simply yank the battery to cut the power and reset the phone. If only you could! But before you do anything, it is important for you to know what causes these problems first.

A frozen iPhone is one of the most common problems of the Apple iPhone. This means that your iPhone is not operating as expected or totally not working. Here are some of the tips and tricks for fixing your iPhone when it freezes or when other problems arise.

The very first thing to do is to make sure that your iPhone is fully charged. You can charge your iPhone by using your iPhone AC adapter or with a high-powered USB port. Make sure that the USB port is high-powered, otherwise your iPhone will not charge. Your keyboard USB port is an example of a low powered port. If you see the red part of the battery image flash three times and then the screen goes black, this means that that the iPhone is not charging.

If you’re sure that your iPhone’s battery is fully charged, the second option is to restart your iPhone. If there is a frozen application try to cancel that application first. To cancel a frozen application, press the home button and hold for about 6 seconds. You should be able to cancel the program that is locked up. Then restart your iPhone, hold the sleep/wake button and wait for a red colored slider to appear. Slide your finger across the slider, this will turn off your iPhone. Wait for at least 10 seconds then turn your iPhone back on.. To turn your iPhone on, hold the sleep/wake button until you see the Apple logo.

Fourth option is to remove some of the content that is not properly synced. Your contacts, calendars, songs, photos, videos, or podcasts are the examples of the content that could be synced to another device. One of such content may be causing your iPhone not to properly. Connect your iPhone to your computer and go to the iTunes site. Change your sync options for each of the following categories: contacts, podcasts, calendars, etc. Click on iPhone in the Source list, then select each tab to change what content is synced, and then click apply.

But if recharging, restarting, resetting or removing content from your iPhone still doesn’t solve the problem, try another one – Reset Settings. There are two ways to reset the settings of your iPhone. First go to settings and then general, then reset, then reset all settings. This will reset everything but no data or media will be deleted. Second, go to settings, select general, select reset and choose erase all contents and settings. This will unfortunately remove all of your saved files, folders, and content, so do this with caution. You may want to backup all of your content before attempting this. The second way will put your iPhone back to the state when you first bought it. Again, use the second option with care.

Restoring your iPhone might be your last resort. To do this, use the latest version of iTunes, then connect your iPhone. When it appears in the Source list, click on Restore in the Summary tab. This will also wipe the iPhone and all your information on it.

Fortunately, the third option here fixed my problem and I’m enjoying my iPhone again as I write this. There are many ways fix a frozen iPhone and yes you can troubleshoot your iPhone by yourself. If these options here do not solve any of your issues, it is better to go to Apple.com. The iPhone troubleshooting section of Apple’s main iPhone support site contains a walk-through for situations like this and other common issues. They have an enormous amount of information out there for you.

Your initial reaction could be… simply yank the battery to cut the power and reset the phone, but there is no batter!
I’ve encountered this problem before… I thought that Apple must have some sort of a contingency in place for lock-ups, and I was right. In this article I will state some tips and tricks on how to troubleshoot your iPhone. YOU will learn how to fix your frozen iPhone or other problems that may arise. Yes YOU!
First option is to recharge your iPhone. Charge your iPhone by using your iPhone AC adapter or with a high-powered USB port. Wait for at least 10 seconds then turn your iPhone back on.. To turn your iPhone on, hold the sleep/wake button until you see the Apple logo.

If recharging or restarting your iPhone doesn’t solve your problem try another solution – Reset. To do this, hold the sleep/wake button and Home buttons simultaneously for a few seconds. The display will quickly wipe itself and you should see the black background and white Apple logo. Just ignore any other symbols that may appear. It is important that you wait for the Apple Logo before releasing the two buttons. The Apple logo signifies that a reset is well done.

But then again, if recharging or restarting or resetting your iPhone doesn’t solve the problem, you may also try another way – Remove. More often than not, your iPhone will not work as you expect, if there is content that is not properly synced. This will require more than a restart… you may need to totally remove the problematic content. You may try to remove certain content such as contacts, calendars, songs, photos, videos, or podcasts. Such content may be causing your iPhone not to sync properly. To do this, connect your iPhone to your computer and go to the iTunes site. Change your sync options for each of the following categories: contacts, podcasts, calendars, etc. Click on the iPhone in the Source list, then select each tab to change what content is synced, and then click apply.

You may also try to reset the settings of your iPhone. Go to the Settings application, tap General then select the Erase All Content and Settings. This will delete all media and data on the iPhone, as well as recent calls, etc., and all other settings.

If all the tips mentioned above didn’t work… you may try this option – Restore. Try restoring iPhone using the latest version of iTunes. Connect iPhone. When it appears in the Source list, click on Restore in the Summary tab. This will also wipe the iPhone and all your information on it.

Fortunately, the third option here fixed my problem and I’m enjoying my iPhone again as I write this.
